The Role
As a Vehicle Damage Assessor you will be inspecting vehicles that have sustained damage and determining the appropriate repair or replacement actions.
Key Responsibilities
What We're Looking For
Damage Appraisal: Identifying and recording all damage, including impact zones and severity, and differentiating between repairable and non-repairable components.
Repair Estimation: Calculating repair costs and timescales using both manual methods and electronic estimating software, considering parts, labor, and safety requirements.
Safety Assessment: Evaluating safety-related systems such as airbags, brakes, and tires, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Stakeholder Communication: Discussing findings with vehicle owners, insurance companies, and repair technicians, negotiating repair methods and costs.
Vehicle Valuation: Assessing current market value using industry guides and determining salvage or total loss status when necessary
About you: VDA ‘s requires a combination of technical knowledge, practical skills, and commercial awareness:
Previous experience as a Vehicle Damage Assessor / VDA
Motor trade experience is a must
Knowledge of repair methodologies, safety standards, and industry regulations.
Strong communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
