The Role
Flame Recruitment is seeking a Bodyshop Workshop Controller to join an automotive body shop in Dartford, Kent. The role centres on running the workshop day to day: allocating jobs to technicians in line with skills and priorities, tracking progress against times and specifications, and stepping in to resolve issues that affect quality, productivity or deadlines. You'll liaise closely with parts, customer service and VDA teams to keep repairs moving smoothly and ensure a safe, compliant, well-organised environment.
This opportunity suits an experienced workshop controller, senior technician or similar from the accident repair industry who enjoys leading people and coordinating multiple workflows under pressure, with a focus on integrity, teamwork and high standards. In return, the package includes 55k basic plus bonus plus benefits, Monday to Friday hours of 8.00-5.00, 20 days' holiday, sick leave/holiday plus statutory, and a pension scheme.

What We're Looking For
• Overseeing daily workshop activity to ensure jobs are completed on time and to specification
• Allocating work to technicians based on skills, workload, and priorities
• Monitoring progress, quality, and productivity, resolving any issues that arise
• Liaising with parts, customer service, and VDA teams to maintain a smooth repair process
• Promoting a safe, compliant, and well-organised working environment
• Proven experience in a workshop controller, senior technician, or similar role within the accident repair industry
• Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate a team
• Solid understanding of repair processes and bodyshop operations
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure
• A commitment to integrity, teamwork, and delivering work of the highest quality
