The Role
As a Mechanic / Vehicle Technician, you will maintain, repair and service customers’ vehicles to a high standard. Using diagnostic tools and equipment, you’ll identify issues, carry out repairs and servicing across the whole vehicle range, and perform road tests to confirm work. You’ll document services and parts used, liaise with the Service Team or customers about options, work to safety regulations, and keep up with current automotive technologies and techniques.
This role suits a hands-on technician with Level 2 in Mechanics (IMI or NVQ), experience in a workshop or dealership, strong diagnostic and mechanical ability, a full UK driving licence, and own tools. The package includes 40k plus bonus and benefits, Monday to Friday 8.30–5.30 with 1 in 2 Saturday mornings, staff training, 28 days holiday, uniform, a pension, and lunch brought every Friday.
Key Responsibilities
What We're Looking For
• Identifying problems with vehicles using diagnostic tools and equipment
• Carrying out repairs and service work across the whole vehicle range
• Performing road tests to ensure repairs were successful and vehicles are functioning properly.
• Documenting services performed, parts used, and any issues found during inspections.
• Communicating with the Service Team or customers about vehicle issues and repair options.
• Ensuring all work is performed in accordance with safety regulations
• Keeping up with the latest automotive technologies and repair techniques.
• Level 2 IN Mechanics through IMI or NVQ
• Experience of working within a workshop or dealership
• Excellent mechanical and technical skills to be able to diagnose and repair faults on a wide range of vehicles
