The Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Quality Inspector to join a confidential automotive employer team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on leadership role, combining technical inspection expertise with responsibility for developing and guiding the Inspection team. The Role Reporting to the Production & Quality Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring all products meet customer specifications and quality standards, while supporting continuous improvement across the Quality and Inspection function.
Key Responsibilities
What We're Looking For
• Leading and developing the Inspection team
• Carrying out first-off and final inspections
• Completing First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) where required
• Programming and operating Faro Arm and CMM measuring equipment
• Interpreting complex engineering drawings and geometric tolerances
• Managing NCRs, including investigation and resolution
• Calibrating inspection and measurement equipment
• Inspecting components from internal production and external suppliers
• Supporting non-conformance investigations and technical issue resolution
• Ensuring products are released in line with customer inspection requirement
• Maintaining accurate inspection records and high standards of housekeeping
• Attending progress meetings and liaising with customers and internal stakeholders
• Occasional travel to customer premises as required
• To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced quality professional with strong leadership skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Essential requirements:
• Minimum of 5 years’ quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment
• Proven experience leading or mentoring inspection teams
• Experience programming and using Faro Arm measuring equipment (scanning and probing)
• Experience programming and operating CMMs
• Confident using hand-held measuring equipment
• Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and geometric tolerances
• Experience producing First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs)
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
