The Role
Flame Recruitment is seeking a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic in Hereford for a full-time, permanent role. You’ll diagnose faults, carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs, complete vehicle health checks with customer videos, and keep accurate records while meeting manufacturer standards. The workshop values clean, safe working and collaboration, and you’ll keep skills current through regular manufacturer training.
This suits an experienced light-vehicle professional (3+ years) with strong diagnostics, attention to detail and a customer focus who thrives in a busy, time-led environment. Hours are Monday to Friday 8.30am–5.00pm with 1-in-2 Saturday mornings. The package includes 40k basic, 46k OTE plus flexible working hours, monthly performance bonuses, 31 days’ holiday rising with service, pension, staff discounts, induction and development training, annual events and wellbeing perks such as free eye tests, dental and therapy treatments.
Key Responsibilities
What We're Looking For
• Confirm reported vehicle issues, diagnose faults, and carry out necessary repairs
• Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting across a range of vehicle systems
• Carry out routine servicing, repairs, and maintenance to manufacturer standards
• Complete vehicle health checks, including customer video presentations of vehicle condition
• Advise on any future maintenance or repair work identified during inspections
• Ensure jobs are completed within allocated timeframes to meet deadlines
• Maintain accurate records of completed work where required
• Keep work areas clean, safe, and organised at all times
• Comply with health and safety standards and participate in ongoing training
• Stay up to date with evolving vehicle technology through regular manufacturer training
• At least three years’ experience working on light vehicles
• Strong diagnostic and repair skills across a broad range of vehicle systems
• A preference for working in a collaborative team environment
• Excellent time management and the ability to manage time allowed for each job
• Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
